Anzac Day

Posted: Thursday, October 23, 2008
It was ANZAC Day 2006, and we were doing our bit.

At the front line the wire was expertly barbed...

(With blackberries from a seemingly inexhaustible source)

And behind which the trenches were dug.

The back garden was seriously blitzed. (The trench was destined to bear the footings of a rock wall, and the blackberries were destined to die.)

The poor blackberries! Is that Beth under the bushes, of whom you can only see the behind part?

No, that would be Dad. The Lemon tree has born several amazing crops since we relieved it of the smothering blackberry canes!

    Hi Click,

Just wanted to say that a way to 'help' people find your blog would be to jot down on the about me/profile thing your fav. movies, books &c. It leads people to you and it leads you to people. The only way people can look at you at the moment is off my blog's sideline. That is, of course, if you want to be able to be seen by other bloggers.
No pressure, just if you're interested.

Hey Rach, thanks for your suggestion. I'll think on that one. This is totally new to me, so I'm spending as much time exploring the options as posting! It's also not very easy to look back two to three years, assemble photos (and memories) and compose an interesting description and explaination that brings readers through the renovation in chronological order. This is my excuse for such irregular posts! Hang in there, and change will become evident. Thanks for taking an interest, and any suggestions are welcomed. Click

Isn't it great to look back and see how far you have come! A truly impressive effort by all the Slick LLick clan. 'All hands on deck' and 'many hands make light work' spring to mind. Some of my childhood memories are helping to clear the land at Kangaloon Rd. Pulling on gumboots (emptying out the spiders first) and chipping in (whether we liked it or not)....but we all appreciated and enjoyed the fruits of our labours in the end.
